Planning a girl’s wine getaway in Northern, VA? Look no further

I don’t know about you, but a true girl’s weekend is not complete without wine. I consider myself lucky to live in area where I am relatively close to a beautiful wine region, but that still doesn’t keep me from adding a vineyard visit to any of my girl’s getaway itineraries.

I’m asked often from my social media friends about how to put together an amazing girl’s getaway weekend. The occasions vary – usually it’s for a bachelorette weekend, a birthday or even a job promotion. I ask a lot of specific questions to make sure that I tailor it to those that are traveling. However, no matter what the occasion, I tend to suggest the venues below most often.

Where to stay:

Landsdowne Resort and Spa

Lansdowne is not only a beautiful hotel; it is convenient to both Dulles airport and the vineyards. It has everything you need, indoor and outdoor pools, multiple restaurants, onsite SPA, golf course and tennis courts.

Embassy Suites

If you have a small budget, Embassy Suites in North Loudoun (Dulles, VA) is perfect. The rooms are spacious, they have an indoor pool and hot tub and free breakfast. They also have a manager’s reception everyday which includes house wine, mixed beverages and food.

Salamander Resort and Spa

Salamander is luxurious, charming and pricey. I’ve never stayed, but I have friends who have, and they loved it.  However, once on the property, there are a lot of activities such as pools, spa, tennis courts, horseback riding, social events, cooking courses and more. It is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in Middleburg.

Winery & Vineyards

There are so many beautiful vineyards in the NOVA area – it’s so hard to choose. However, I’d personally select multiple wineries that are in the same “cluster” or those that are relatively close to one another.

Middleburg, VA

Cana Vineyards

Chrysalis Vineyards

Greenhill Winery and Vineyards

Hillsboro, VA

Breaux Vineyards

Doukenie Winery

Hillsborough Vineyards

For brunch, I love La Petite Lou Lou Creperie in Purcellville, VA. It is one of the cutest Parisian-themed restaurants I’ve been to. The coffee, pastries and crepes are delicious. It is the perfect way to end the weekend or start the final day of wine sippin.

For dinner, my favorite restaurant in Leesburg is The Conche, which is located in Leesburg. The Conche is a chocolate themed boutique which serves chocolate infused cuisine, hand-crafted desserts, cocktails and confections.
